Break complex shapes into rectangles — an L-shaped driveway becomes two rectangles. Run the calculator once for each section and add the results. Curved or circular areas: use π × radius² for the area, then convert to tons using: tons = area (sq ft) × depth (in) ÷ 12 ÷ 27 × density factor. Add extra for overage based on your site.
